The 3rd annual meeting of the European Innovation Council (EIC) Engineered Living Materials (ELM) Portfolio was held 1–2 October 2025, at the University of Primorska’s InnoRenew CoE in Izola. The two-day event offered a rich program of scientific presentations, training, discussions, and networking opportunities. Joining the meeting were all the portfolio projects, along with their collaborating researchers and industry partners, as well as external experts from across Europe.
The meeting, hosted by the REMEDY project, started with opening remarks from its coordinator Anna Sandak and Orsolya Symmons, EIC Programme Manager in Health and Biotechnology.
Representing project partner IPCB-CNR were Mariangela Clemente, Anna Mariano, and Farah Daou, who shared their recent work on BIOACTION, along with many other early-career researchers from other portfolio projects, through flash talks and poster sessions. Maria Grazia Raucci and Luigi Ambrosio, BIOACTION’s coordinator, present the project’s main concepts and goals and answer any questions participants had about it.
Leading experts discussed regulatory challenges, while trailblazers shared insights on commercialising emerging and out of the box products, and gaining investor support. The event was packed with engaging presentations, poster session, dynamic workshops, and rewarding networking opportunities, all enhancing collaboration within our vibrant ELMs community.
